The Opportunity
Are you passionate about transforming data into intelligence — and intelligence into action? At Derivative Path, we’re reshaping how financial institutions leverage data and technology to make smarter, faster, and more confident decisions.

We’re seeking a Director of Data & Insights to lead this next chapter, with a focus on scaling our SaaS data capabilities and building intelligent, interconnected systems that move seamlessly between internal platforms and client environments.

What You Will Do
As Director of Data & Insights, you’ll own the vision, architecture, and strategy behind how data powers our products and decisions. You’ll lead a multidisciplinary team of analysts, engineers, and data scientists in designing systems that are accurate, scalable, and value-driven.

You’ll go beyond static reporting to architect data flows that connect our SaaS platform with external partners and client systems — ensuring that data in and out of our ecosystem is secure, reliable, and insightful.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and execute the company’s data and AI strategy, aligning architecture, analytics, and governance with business and customer goals.
  • Build and scale SaaS data pipelines that enable seamless data exchange between client systems, partners, and internal platforms.
  • Lead the development of data ingestion, transformation, and distribution frameworks that support real-time decision-making and reporting.
  • Partner with product and engineering to design data-driven features that enhance customer experience, insight, and automation.
  • Ensure data interoperability through well-designed APIs, ETL pipelines, and secure data exchange protocols.
  • Oversee data quality, governance, and compliance across distributed environments.
  • Foster collaboration between technical and non-technical teams to ensure data informs action, not just analysis.
  • Promote ethical AI and responsible data usage throughout the organization.
Essential Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in data, analytics, or platform engineering, including 3+ years in leadership roles.
  • Proven experience building and managing SaaS data ecosystems, including client-facing data integrations and APIs.
  • Strong understanding of data ingestion, synchronization, and distribution patterns (REST APIs, webhooks, streaming, etc.).
  • Deep knowledge of cloud-native data architecture (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and modern ETL/ELT frameworks.
  • Experience with data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) and data lake concepts.
  • Strong understanding of machine learning, predictive analytics, or AI-powered insights.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills; able to translate complex insights into business language.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative or technical field, or equivalent experience.

Location
  • Canada
Benefits
  • Competitive bonus, base salary, and equity compensation
  • 23 days of PTO
  • Fully remote
  • RRSP contribution at 3%
  • Competitive health benefits

The expected salary for this position is  $140K to $180K CAD and is eligible for a discretionary bonus and equity. We will consider your skills, experience, and location when determining your pay.
