The Opportunity

We're seeking an Associate Director of Data Insights to lead the development and delivery of business intelligence solutions, self-service reporting tools, and data visualization capabilities. Reporting to the Director of Data & Insights, you'll manage a team responsible for ensuring our clients can easily access, understand, and act on the insights within their data.

What You Will Do
As Associate Director of Data Insights, you'll lead the team responsible for building and maintaining the analytics infrastructure that enables clients to explore their data independently. You'll own the strategy for self-service BI tools, reporting frameworks, and data visualization experiences that make complex financial data accessible and actionable.

You'll manage a team ensuring they deliver intuitive, scalable, and insightful solutions that meet diverse client needs.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team focused on self-service analytics, reporting, and data visualization
  • Own the roadmap and execution for client-facing business intelligence capabilities, including dashboards, reports, and embedded analytics
  • Design and implement self-service reporting frameworks that enable clients to explore and analyze their data independently
  • Partner with product and client success teams to understand reporting requirements and translate them into scalable BI solutions
  • Establish analytics governance standards, report design principles, and data visualization best practices
  • Monitor usage patterns and gather feedback to continuously improve reporting capabilities and user experience
Essential Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or reporting, with 2+ years managing technical teams
  • Proven experience building and scaling self-service BI programs in SaaS or financial services environments
  • Strong expertise in BI platforms (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar) and embedded analytics solutions
  • Proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and analytics engineering frameworks (dbt, Dataform)
  • Deep understanding of data visualization principles, dashboard design, and storytelling with data
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) and semantic layer technologies
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent experience

The expected salary for this position is  $130K to $160K CAD and is eligible for a discretionary bonus and equity. We will consider your skills, experience, and location when determining your pay.
